Organizational Structure
The Ark-La-Tex Ambassadors is a club created in 1963 to underwrite and administer Holiday In Dixie. Through the dues of its members and corporate sponsorships, Holiday In Dixie is able to meet its goal of providing ten days of celebration with more than fifty community events including a parade, a carnival, neighborhood block parties, a treasure hunt and more. Seed money, to create new events or sustain valuable existing events, is distributed through the approval of both the Budget Committee and Finance Committee to the events on a need basis until the event can be self supporting or secure sponsorship.

The festival seeks to effect a positive economic impact upon the Shreveport - Bossier community by extending the media exposure and appealing to a variety of market segments, including the family market, adult market, and senior market. Holiday In Dixie’s objective is to provide “something for everyone”. Ultimately, Holiday In Dixie’s broad appeal enhances the potential to attract visitors and create overnight stays.

The Ambassador Executive Committee consists of the Chairman and Vice Chairman of the Ambassadors Club, President of Holiday In Dixie, the Treasurer, the Executive Director and the Executive Secretary of Holiday In Dixie. The committee works together to provide financial and professional advice to Holiday In Dixie.

The Vice Presidents of Holiday In Dixie act as the liaison between the events and oversee the working of the festival. They work with their assigned events in whatever capacity the event may need, i.e. award presentations. They also serve as speakers on behalf of the festival.
