Miss Holiday In Dixie
As said by William C. Money in his first festival announcement, "It is always a pleasure to greet one's friends and this week it is especially gratifying to welcome not only our own citizens of Shreveport, but the many hundreds of others from throughout the tri-state area and the nation who are honoring us by coming to our city to launch the first of a series of great regional festivals."

Holiday In Dixie was a culmination of two years of planning and production and stared as a week long festival designed to combine the charm of the Old South with the hustle of the Great southwest. Our wealth of historical love, the beauty of our city and region and the unique quality of our geographical location has given us much to build a truly significant annual festival.

The festival has been successful with topflight events and extending for two weeks since its beginning. Especially encouraging has been the enthusiasm, intelligence and energy of the participation organizations. An event of the scope of Holiday In Dixie could not be accomplished without the active aid and support of many hundreds of people. They have given much of their time, talents and money. The success of this festival is truly a tribute to their efforts. We are searching for the pictures of some of the contestants who participated in the Miss Holiday In Dixie Pageant over the past 59 years. If you have information or know the location of any of these contestants, please e-mail us at HolidayinDixie@aol.com.

The 2008 Miss Holiday In Dixie Pageant will be held at the C. E. Byrd High School auditorium. For more information, please visit the official Miss Holiday In Dixie Scholarship Pageant web site, click here. To go to the new Teen Princess Louisiana web site, click here.
